The Wheelchair Activist

Keep the conversation around disability awareness going and tune into my podcast. I interview incredible members of the disabled community and our allies on their stories, insights, and how they’re fighting for greater inclusion, offering you the knowledge and motivation to advocate for change. I also deep dive into my own life as a disabled person and lay the reality out on the table – from its highs, lows, and everything in between.

Whether you’re an ally, a policymaker, or part of the disabled community, this podcast is your go-to source for understanding and action.

“Our voices deserve to be heard – whether we’re shouting or typing.”

Hosted by Emma Vogelmann: I’m a policy, public affairs, and campaigns professional with a law degree and three gorgeous dogs. I was born with spinal muscular atrophy, which limits movement and weakens muscles over time, meaning I need to use a wheelchair. I contracted swine flu in 2009, which led to me needing a tracheostomy and a ventilator. My equipment is essential, but it does restrict my accessibility in a world built without disabled people in mind. This is fundamentally wrong, and I am passionate about changing the world into an accessible, inclusive place for us all.
