Jonathan Paradox Lee

(they/them) What do you need to enjoy this text? A few slow breaths, some water? This is an invitation to find some ease. Access is an ongoing negotiation. Jonathan Paradox acknowledges and practices this type of expansive access within their meeting facilitation, creative direction, copywriting, theater practice, and community organizing. With a lived experience of recovering from burnout and mental health crises, they are committed to working within cross-Disability community and organizations led by and committed to people who are most impacted by the oppressive systems of our dominant culture. Jonathan is the co-founder with Grant Miller of The Curiosity Paradox, an embodied cross-Disability access and consulting creative practice.

As a Creative Director with over 20 years of experience in digital marketing AND community organizing, I’m wanting to slow down and center the feelings and potential impact of this creative vocation. Creativity creates futures.

My clients and collaborators have included IDEO, the Portland Art Museum, National Disability Theatre, Calling Up Justice, Catalyst Consulting, as well as the communities of Crip Create and Justice Producer’s Collaborative.

Some key components of my work include creative strategy, cognitive access, access beyond compliance, access as an art form, and the creative centering of cross-Disability experience and negotiation as a creative engine for dreams beyond the impossible.
